Tutor: Jane Hamilton
£280 (2 day workshop) including model fees, materials & homemade lunch
Working from the model, learn each stage in the process of sculpting a head and create a finished piece for subsequent firing. Work starts with an armature, building and sculpting the skull and then proceeds to the various muscle groups. Learn moulding and casting before covering finishing techniques.
Jane spent her childhood years living in West Africa, a vivid experience that has had a profound and lasting effect on her work. Her formal training began at Falmouth School of Art and at City and Guilds School of Art in London. Her figurative work can be found in private collections around the world. She focuses mainly on commissioned portraits, and we are delighted that she able to come and teach at the gallery.
