I am a painter working from my studio in an old Silk Mill in the West Country town of Frome in the UK. I live not far from here in a small village surrounded by beautiful country side. I am always aware of the changing weather and seasons, bringing with them the fruits and flowers, birds and moths that are to be found in my paintings. I tend to work in synch with the seasons, returning to certain themes year on year.

In the world I see so much disconnection with nature. I believe that our deepest peace and happiness comes from the simplicity of feeling our connection to all things and to each other. Many of my paintings are made almost as sacred objects in celebration of the natural world. The use of copper-leaf accentuates this and can create many different effects. I also love to incorporate pattern and decoration into my paintings especially into my portrait works. These patterns are inspired by textiles and tiles and I love the richness that they impart.
