Jack Davis

Graduating from Falmouth University in 2012, Jack now lives and works near St Just.

Jack is a member of the St Ives Society of Artists and is  a tutor at the renowned Newlyn School of Art since 2016.

Of his work, Jack says
“My work is routed in the West Penwith peninsula. This landscape is remote, rugged, and infused with an ancient primal majesty. The dramatic skies and sea which surround my home in St Just are of specific interest to me; the pulse and flux of the vacillating weather and the luminosity of operatic light, provide me with constant inspiration. When I paint, I harness the impulsive energy of my subject matter and create order out of chaos, mirroring the landscape I inhabit.”

Jack has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Scope Art Fair Miami, and was an invited artist to ‘Sculpture by the Sea’ in Cottesloe, Australia. More recently, he has exhibited at the Secret Postcard Auction, the Members Autumn and Spring Exhibitions, St Ives Society of Artists, and at the Englishman Fine Art, in Naples, USA.

He has been awarded the -Aesthetica Art Prize:(FUTURE NOW 100 Contemporary Artists), the Threadneedle Prize (figurative Art today) and was selected for the Bryan & Keeling prize.

Jack’s work has been acquired for prominent private and corporate collections across the world.
