Lottie Pratt
Lottie’s work combines her love of watercolours with her passion for beautiful interiors and fabrics.
After graduating from the KLC School of Design, Lottie was fortunate enough to join the design team of the much revered Robert Kime. It was her valuable experience here, particularly working with a unique collection of antique textiles, that particularly inspired her passion for beautiful fabrics and has been one of the main influences on her work.
“I love the fragility and delicacy of working with watercolours, immersing myself in all the tiny little details. Each brush stroke becomes part of a story I’m telling, especially so when painting my portraits of shoes and fans. It’s all about creating a feel for how these exquisite pieces have gently aged. The time-worn silks, satin brocades, embroidery and craftsmanship that went into their creation evoke a wonderful sense of history and I can’t help wondering what tales they could tell.”
