Affordable art, accessible to all will be featured at The Spring Hampshire Fair

Nadia – an artist herself – is mindful of making the Hampshire Art Fair as accessible as possible to as many different budgets as possible and exhibits range from £200-£7,000.
At the lower end of the price scale are two up-and-coming artists new to the gallery – Julie Lawrence and Holly Brown. Julie’s pastel and oil works are inspired by her encounters on her walks on the Wirral Peninsula, reflecting the shifting levels of light which influence perception and mood, featuring ambiguous shadowy figures. Julie is an award-winning artist who previously won regional prize for the North of England Artist of the Year. She is an exciting new addition to the gallery’s already impressive stable of artists which includes new comers and renowned artists who are household names in the art dealer world.
Holly, a local artist and book illustrator from Frome, paints from her garden studio using oils and natural pigments, focusing her artwork on still life. The joyous colours and compositions shout the essence of spring through oil. Nadia represents a number of book illustrators (or textiles artists) who are turning their hands to the joys of painting, including Belynda Sharples and Bess Harding.

Supporting young, up-and-coming fine artists

Julie Lawrence and Holly Brown are two of many new artists who will be represented by Nadia at The Spring Hampshire Art Fair. Nadia has an exceptional talent for discovering up-and-coming artists both in the local area and further afield. Her current exhibition features Helen McCusker, a semi-retired model who is pursuing her dream as a painter. Nadia spotted this young artist’s talent and invited her to exhibit her artwork at the spring show after Helen announced her first solo exhibition. It is this thrill of discovery which Nadia finds so stimulating and rewarding.
‘One of the greatest joys of my day-to-day working life is the diversity it affords me. I spend a lot of time travelling to see artists at work and I feel so privileged to be able to build relationships with such interesting and talented people. I see them at work in their own studios and immerse myself in how they paint, the paints they use, their background and their mutual love of painting.’

The Hampshire Art Fair will feature many of our favourite artists regularly showcased

At the higher end of the price range are the wonderfully rich and vibrant paintings of well-known artist Patrick Gibbs who has been represented by the gallery since 2020. Patrick manages to capture the magic and exoticism of his travels to far-flung places through his work, brilliantly depicting the everyday life of the people living there. Patrick’s paintings transport the viewer into the heat, sun and timeless atmosphere of a world away. The incredible accuracy within his artwork ensures that no feeling or memory is tampered with.
In a similar bracket is another highly regarded artist, Paul Wadsworth whose work is imbued with the vivid colours and stories of his travels in the Middle East and latterly India. Paul produces some of the larger and most vibrant artworks represented at the gallery. His abstract paintings capture your eye as you unravel the story and figures within each artwork. Observational drawings sketched on his travels help jog his memory when he is working in his studio in Cornwall and the colour and memories come flooding back and are poured into these bold and striking pieces.
There are many, many more paintings, sculptures and ceramics across all price points to choose from. Please head over to our exhibition page to see a full list of all of the available artworks at the show. A curated selection of artworks which are being exhibited can also be
seen in our brochure. Shortly after the show remaining artworks will be on display at our Bruton Gallery to be enjoyed for a longer period of time.
