This is a superb workshop for anyone who would like to focus on abstracting the figure from life. Students will focus on structure and form, and will be encouraged to loosen up and sculpt with spontaneity. Looking at the fundamental skills and processes used in sculpting in clay, Adam will go through the initial measuring of the figure, looking at the space, scaling and the making of the armature. The course will also touch on the importance of expressing personal influence from the student’s perspective so that each person can produce a piece reflecting their individuality. Local sculptor, Adam Roud has had many years’ experience sculpting both figurative and abstract pieces. He has been widely exhibited in the area and beyond and this two-day course provides a great opportunity to learn about his craft. He is hugely enthusiastic and passionate about sharing his knowledge of the sculpting process, so this promises to be a thoroughly stimulating and rewarding experience.
