This invaluable two day workshop is suitable for artists who would like to develop their pastel or oil work. Day one discuss the mediums students will be working with. Felicity will give short demonstrations and look at artists for inspiration. You will explore the medium you are working in, by making monochromatic studies and painting simple subjects in colour, with view to colour harmony.
Day two will explore the dynamics of working on coloured grounds with contrasting palette of pastels. You will look at different compositional formats to develop exciting paintings. Organising your pastel and oil kit, storing and framing your work will also be covered.
Following a career school teaching Felicity worked as an illustrator and as a tutor of life drawing and short art courses. Such flexibility gave her the opportunity to travel and fill numerous sketchbooks. She discovered the versatility and immediacy of pastels and was elected a Member of the Pastel Society in 2003. She is currently Chairman of Bournemouth Arts Club. Felicity is one of the most inspiring tutors, and students will be totally absorbed by Felicitys inspiring teaching.
