Caroline MilneAfter many years of attending evening classes and course. In 1995, I became a mature student and completed a City and Guilds diploma in Ceramics. Then I set up a studio in London. In 2007 moved to Oxfordshire and have a studio at home. I work predominantly in porcelain, porcelain paper clay. I want my work to enhance a room but more importantly to be touched and loved. My work is mostly hand sculpted or thrown. Every piece is unique. More recently have been exploring the diversity of porcelain paper clay, using antique lace, wooden Indian printing blocks within the designs. The joy of paperclay is that it can be rolled out paper thin. This produces such fragility and translucency yet still has the strength fo fine porcelain. From my travel around the world I have drawn inspiration. recent journeys to India and Bhutan.
