The focus of British artist Charlie Calder Potts’ work is history and its tendency to repeat, the value of heritage and how one generation mirrors another. She has worked with the British Army in Afghanistan, and been inspired by countries ranging from Iran and Tajikistan to Russia. Her medium can be aluminium, wood panelling or vellum paper, her work thus straddling painting, photography and drawing. It has a serene, haunting, highly decorative quality.
