Alison Rankin lives and works in Sussex originally trained as a graphic designer. Her work in design, as a photographic props stylist and creating paint effects for interiors has greatly influenced her paintings. Together with a love of antique china and fabrics, all this has led to her present still life style of work.
Her idiosyncratic, sometimes almost surreal work extends the still life genre by adding a sense of momentum and dynamic relationships.
Alison has exhibited at NWFA, Quantum art gallery and at major international art fairs in New York, Toronto, Hong Kong, Singapore, San Francisco and Miami. She has also exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Her paintings are in acrylic on heavyweight Fabriano paper, float mounted in elegant black box frames and behind high quality non-reflective glass.
