Fletcher’s work immerses you entirely and absolutely in nature. It is a joyous celebration of the power of paint and of wildlife, renderings of gloriously vibrant wild flower meadows, gardens or wonderful trees punctuated with beautifully observed bird life. The results burst with energy, detail and delicacy. Some more recent works have Japanese or Dutch Master overtones, with dark backgrounds or the use of soft golds and yellows as the backdrop to bare blossom trees inhabited by the odd enquiring bird or more closely observed flowers in still life.
