Gaila graduated with a Fine Art Degree BA Hons from Cheltenham Art College in 1982 and have been designing and constructing gardens and landscapes with her partner since 1989.

In 2009 she graduated with an MSc from the University of Bath in The Conservation of Historic Gardens and Cultural Landscapes and has designed and consulted on the gardens of Listed Buildings.

Over the years she has carried on painting behind the scenes and there has been a natural progression where painting is now central to her life.

The British Landscape in all its guises is her passion. Gaila lives and works in its midst and she is constantly inspired by its beauty. She loves to paint in oils and once she starts making a few marks on the canvas, the images takes on a life of its own with accentuated colour, bold palette knife marks or more sensitive brush strokes, depending on the subject.
