Michael Clark

Michael Clark PAI RSW graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art in 1983. His love of film led to him working with BBC Scotland in Glasgow. After six years with BBC Scotland, and seeking new challenges he moved to London in 1989.

“I returned to easel painting and had my first solo exhibition with Sally Hunter Fine Art, Knightsbridge in 1996. To celebrate the exhibition, Woodmansterne, the Fine Art Card publisher reproduced 50 of my paintings as greetings cards, and generously paid my framing bill”.

Since 1996 I have had many solo and mixed shows with galleries in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ballater, Bristol and Long Melford.

“London was a terrific melting pot, full of possibilities. After ten years I looked for more space to accommodate our growing family and studio. In 1999 I returned to Scotland with my wife Karen and our three children.”
