Stacey is based in Oxford, UK. She is New Zealand born and raised, of Scottish and English descent. She moved to the UK in 2010 and pursued an atelier art education in London.

Colour, simplicity, and a sense of space are central to her work. She paints from direct observation as a starting point, often abstracting or introducing elements from imagination. Her work is inspired for the large part by post-impressionist European painters, including Vuillard, Bonnard and Morandi.

From 2011 – 2015 Stacey studied the foundations of classical painting and drawing at London Fine Art Studios. She has exhibited with the Federation of British Artists, at the Mall Galleries in London, and at Leighton House Museum. Stacey has been featured in Artists and Illustrators magazine (Oct 2021) and in 2019 she was shortlisted for the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize. Since 2021 she has been a visiting painting tutor at Balliol College, Oxford University.
