My passion for creativity has never been stronger, having grown as an artist throughout my life. I take inspiration from my love of colour and shape, then combining these with form and line observed from the land which surrounds me. My images are stripped down to the ‘basics’. Never without my sketchbook or camera I make small studies and notes of my experiences whilst travelling, then in my studio transfer these recordings to canvas.

After a life time of creativity my professional portfolio spans the past twenty years. In 2012 I was lucky enough to open my own gallery: Tom Holland Gallery in Penryn, Cornwall. With the space doubling up as my studio, this has given me the ideal surroundings and wonderful north facing light to immerse myself in the painting process.

My work is collected internationally and I regularly exhibit in Galleries such as Gallery Tresco – Isles of Scilly, Fowey River Gallery – Fowey, The Atrium Gallery (formerly The Lander Gallery) Truro, D Contemporary – Mayfair, and as far as France, Ireland, and America.

Amongst other places, the Isles of Scilly never fails to inspire me. The constant change in the mood of the isles provides an ever-evolving palette of colours for me to work with. I can look at the same view over and over again yet I will always find new inspiration. There is no other place I’d rather be. This is what I want to convey to the viewer, a wonderful feeling of peace, warmth and sun.
